Home away from home

Taysir Batniji

Palestinian French artist Taysir Batniji brings together recent photographs, selections from family archives, drawings, and writings to explore the sense of dislocation and differing ideas of « home » as experienced by his family members, who immigrated to the United States in the late 1960s through the 1980s. Batniji is the third recipient of Immersion, a French American Photography Commission, developed by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès in alliance with Aperture Foundation.
