Surgical Techniques in Orthopaedics and Traumatology

This collection is published under the auspices of the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT).

The rapid development of increasingly sophisticated techniques in orthopaedics incited EFORT and Elsevier to launch this collection in response to the need for organisation and standardisation in the training of European orthopaedists. The collection is coordinated by Professor Jacques Duparc, assisted by 20 Associate Editors, all renowned specialists in their fields.

This is the most comprehensive, clear and concise description of the techniques of operative surgery which I have encountered. Jacques Duparc and his colleagues are to be congratulated on a magnificent effort.

Volume 5 - Wrist and Hand

In this volume, the major techniques in orthopaedic hand surgery are addressed in 61 articles (392 pages) written by 73 distinguished European specialists. Techniques are described step by step and copiously illustrated (over 1000 drawings and photographs). Variations of the techniques are discussed, as well as complications and clinical results. Indications are provided when necessary for the choice of treatment.
