Biographie

Michel Marthaler, geologist and honorary professor at the University of Lausanne, is an unreserved mountain enthusiast. The discovery of fossil plankton in the Valais Alps during his doctoral research led him to subsequently study the entire Alpine arc. His books and field lectures have greatly contributed towards popularising geology.

Micha Schlup, geologist and geographer, completed a doctoral thesis on the Himalayas at the University of Lausanne, before devoting the last two decades to popularising geosciences, secondary school education, and vocational training, in particular for hiking guides.
